Follow up to INSET: The CAD/CAM Initiative: Pro Desktop; 7,8 November 2002
PTC, the developers of ProDesktop have made a version of the software available to download free of charge from their website. Those of you who are familiar with the software will notice that this free software does not have the "album environment" used to produce a rendered image of the design. However, it is still a very useful piece of software and is a great place to start in 3D modelling.
Free Download of ProDesktop Express
CAD/CAM Initiative
The website for the CAD/CAM Initiative is a useful location to keep up to date with developments; to access a showcase of students work (although not much is available at the minute) and find useful information on how other teachers are using the software through the online discussions.
