| The Regional Induction Programme
of eight training days for beginning teachers (BT's) includes
four science training days. BT's may select four from the suite
of five science training days which are presented on a regional
basis by the Interboard Science Advisory Group. The science
advisory officers from the five Education and Library Boards
meet regularly to co-ordinate the programme which is updated
every year to match the needs of BT's and changes in education.
The two day residential element of the science programme, introduced
in 2001-2, will take place at Magilligan Field Centre in December
this year. It provides the essential core of the science professional
development programme as well as a great opportunity to meet
old friends and new who are in their first year of science teaching.
Details are included with the Post
Primary INSET information on this website and all relevant
information will be sent to schools approximately 5 weeks before
the courses take place.
