A Health Promoting School Process
The Health Promoting School initiative sets out
the following process, which is based on school improvement principles.
A school will alreadyu recognise this as a way of assuring the quality
of it's planning and provision of educational opportunities.
The same process is recommended to assist schools
meet the established criteria and indicators for a health promoting
school, and move forward in raising the quality of health promotion
work.

| 1.Set up a health promoting school team |
| 2.Conduct an audit of the school's health
promotion provision |
| 3. Using the results, set targets with a
timescale |
| 4. Create a school action plan that feeds
into the school development plan |
| 5. Implement a programme of activity to support
the plan |
| 6. Collect and collate evidence of the process
and outcomes for local and regional evaluation |
| 7. Monitor, evaluate and review |
| 8. Contribute to dissemination of good practice |
