Puzzle 1
A dog, a kitten and a rabbit together cost £20. If the rabbit cost three times as much as the kitten, and three dogs could be bought for the price of four rabbits, what is the cost of each animal?
Puzzle 2
A caterpillar and a frog are racing along a pavement. The caterpillar moves steadily and covers four squares of pavement every thirty seconds. The frog takes one-second jumps, covering a whole square with each leap, but has to rest for six seconds between jumps. At the end of two minutes, who is winning and by how many squares?
