LANACOS, corporate member
of ALL, offers teachers suitable courses
from January to November in France, Spain, Germany, Italy
and Portugal. These courses are divided for two main target
audiences; those teachers who have a real immediate need to
improve their fluency and learn methodology; and those teachers
who already have a high level of proficiency but would benefit
from an update of materials and methods. After 10 years of
advising teachers and students alike, this unique service
has received many varied requests and it guarantees personal
attention to each inquirer.
Marie-Claire MacDonald, for example, originally from France
and now teaching in Scotland, found that going to Madrid in
the holidays to improve on her rusty Spanish was enormously
beneficial not only for her increased fluency and confidence
but also for the incredible insight experienced teachers could
give her regarding materials and methods.
In addition, the fact that she was living in the country
and learning about the culture gave her so many welcome ideas
for Spanish. In the end both Marie-Claire and her school benefited;
the school now has one more Spanish teacher! The EU funding
paid for course, activities, accommodation, subsistence as
well as travel to and from the UK.
