The Ethnic Minority Achievement team was set up in September 2005 to help schools in the SELB to meet the needs of the growing numbers of pupils for whom English is not their first language.

School support includes: -

• advice to SMT and class teachers
• planning and resourcing
• induction of pupils
• assessment
• intercultural awareness training
